New Features

Support for Inverted Texture Layers in SVGs

Inverted texture layers materials can now be applied to SVG parts. See Adding Textures and Decals to a Part.

Support for Masked and Multi-Layer Materials in SVGs

Artists can now assign masked materials and multi-layer materials to SVGs in the canvas and item tree. See Material Libraries.

New Colorway Version Popup

Artists are now informed about updated Colorway versions through a new popup in the application.

Populate File Names with Tokens from Text Items

Often, text fields used within the sheets are important data fields that need to be used in the file export process. Artists can now auto-populate the data within these text fields into tokens that can be used during the export process using a Select from text items dropdown. See Exporting Your Work.

Save and Load Presets in the Export Dialog

Artists can now create and load export templates in the Export Project dialog. See Exporting Your Work.

Populate File Names with the System Date

Artists can now add the system date and time to filenames in the Export dialog. See Exporting Your Work.

Colorway Kit: Added support for Modo 14.1v1

Modo 14.1v1 is supported with the Colorway Kit.

Colorway IO Tool

The Colorway IO tool is a command line tool useful for creating, debugging, cropping, and optimizing .dci files. See IO Tool.

Bug Fixes

435526 - Fixed a crash when resizing a contact sheet down to 0x0.

435661 - Fixed a crash when applying a material to all variations if one of those variations had no material state yet.

436984 - Improved memory manager operation and fixed a hang with loading materials when Colorway reached limits of allowed memory use.

439294 - Fixed an issue where a part subtree goes out of sync with the tracked variation.

431456 - LinkedItemsEngine: Improved the logic that determines which part on the item should be the source of common materials when linking parts together. Also fixed bugs in the logic responsible for ensuring that parts are properly detached on Undo and Redo.

440765 - Fixed a crash when grouping parts with linked items that may not have a common part tree.

434267 - Fixed extreme load times of popup windows on Windows.

435644 - Kit: Fixed an issue where the kit failed to render if you used a luminous material with the mPath renderer.

597010 - Kit: The kit now shows procedural UVs in the UI.

Fixed a Colorway 4.0v1 regression where blending transparent and opaque DCI passes were not rendered correctly.

Fixed an issue where the text input in a combo box would occasionally not receive keyboard focus.

Fixed an issue with tooltips not showing up in the correct position for custom combo-box buttons.

Known Issues

431338 - Text styles cannot be applied with the Highlighter tool.

434270 - A crash within NVIDIA drivers can occur when opening the File drop down from the menu bar.

422711 - Booting on macOS with no license may cause Colorway to hang.

416694 - When adding a new Live Source the OS browser might run very slowly.

402893 - Return Roam will error if the internet is disconnected instead of displaying a warning.

404604 - SVG files may sometimes be broken after consolidating.

414523 - A cyan tint appears when adjusting transparent parts.

427416 - DCI files can sometimes have Modo material colors burned into its textures (cleaning Modo settings seems to resolve this issue).

394303 - The texture widget behaves erratically when non-uniform scale is applied at the part level.

396080 - A client using a server license will take too long to boot when disconnected from the VPN, if it doesn't crash.

396246 - Importing another users preferences file does not update the source browser correctly.

430816 - Parts viewed through transparency might remain white and do not update when a color is applied.

430817 - Color type will change when deselecting a part.

431182 - Alignment is not saved in the text style but the style is removed if the alignment is changed.

431250 - The size slider in grid view is not functioning.

431474 - Part and item selection is sometimes inconsistent.

431674 - Selecting a whole folder from the Livesource browser might cause a crash.

429674 - Sheets can be rotated in certain situations.

427752 - Sometimes, SVGs do not load when the SVG is opened in Illustrator.

428019 - Zooming out might cause SVGs to disappear.

430045 - Undo is only working intermittently when applying materials.

432218 - The gradients picker will become slow when adjusting a texture on a linked part with live update enabled.

432221 - Adding a color to a large palette will cause the palette to scroll to the bottom.

432233 - While moving a texture on a part, there will be no right-click context menu.

432462 - Adding a sheet requires the user to press OK twice.

433878 - Undo is inconsistent on manually created callouts.

433919 - Callout bubbles cannot be moved if they are outside of the bounding box.

430505 - Variant Selector text is tiny at 4K.

430628 - Artifacting appears on projects rendered with a mask.

433176 - Camera overrides cause some materials to be lost.

394046 - When the user adds a new UV map to their Modo project, it doesn't appear in the kit's list of UV maps right away.

429005 - When rendering out a DCI from the kit, occasionally there will be no file.
