Troubleshooting
When you are performing an action using Colorway Kit, like exporting a project for example, Colorway Kit has an in-depth error message dialog that provides you with details of potential errors related to your project and the action you are trying to perform.
Warning/Error Messages and Descriptions
Below is a list of error messages and their descriptions:
Export Error Message | Description |
Nothing is currently tagged for export. | The kit has found no tagged material groups (or the tagged material groups found are empty/not used) and there are no tagged lights in your scene. |
Export to Colorway could not be completed (see Event Log for more info). | This error means that something has caused the export to fail. The information in the Event Log is vital for us to fix the issue, so be sure to send it if you contact support. |
The Colorway render process failed. Reason : X | This error is specific to the rendering that happens on export. As above, the reason given helps us in pinpointing the exact issue with your scene. |
Import Error Message | Description |
The selected Colorway file wasn’t exported from this Modo project and some looks may not import correctly. |
This is a warning informing you that the name of the Modo project you’re importing into doesn’t match the name of the Modo project from which the original Colorway export was completed. Colorway skips materials/lights during import if they are not found in the newer scene. |
Missing textures required for this project are available in the .lks file. Would you like to save these files to disk and use them for this import? |
Colorway cannot locate the textures used in the Colorway project on the local system. However, as all textures are included directly with the .dci file itself, you can choose to save a copy of those textures to disk for use in Modo. |
Colorway Import Successful - X materials were skipped. |
The kit has skipped X materials due them not being found in the project. |
X looks were renamed on import due to Unicode errors. |
Non-Unicode characters are currently not supported in Modo, but they are supported in Colorway. As such, incompatible names are converted on import to the form ‘Unnamed Look 1’. |
Import from Colorway could not be completed (see Event Log for more info). |
This error means that something has caused the import to fail. The information in the Event Log is vital for us to fix the issue, so be sure to send if you contant support. |
