Using the Scene Explorer and Scene Graph

In Katana, there are two panels which you can use to view and manage the hierarchical structure of a scene.

• Scene Explorer

• Scene Graph

The Scene Explorer is a newer and more extended version of the Scene Graph, with a versatile layout and additional tools. While it was designed primarily to help manage scenes with USD, its options will suit any workflow - USD, geolib (Katana’s legacy data) only, or a combination of the two. In particular, the side-by-side toggle view between USD and Katana geolib can help manage both simultaneously.

The older Scene Graph does not support USD, but it still has all the other functions you will need for working with geolib scenes if you prefer to use this.
