Test Your Knowledge

1.   Name the main advantage of Material based workflow.
2.   Name the channels Mari's default Principled BRDF shader will generate initially.
3.   What shortcut combination allows us to dive into the Material network?

Exercise

1.   Click File > New to open the New Project dialog.
2.   In the Geometry tab, using the Path field select an object to be painted.
3.   In the Channels tab, click the Category dropdown and select Principled BRDF - Metallic - Games.
4.   In the Lighting tab, set Active Light Count to 0 and select an Environment Map, then click Create New Project.

The project is created.

5.   Open the Node Graph palette and press L to tidy up the Node Graph.

Observe the nodal connections created.

6.   In the Shelf palette, in the Mari Materials tab, select a material and drag it onto your object on the canvas.

Observe the changes in the Node Graph.
