USD Scene
Nuke Stage uses USD as its 3D format, and can load USD files created from other DCCs.
To load a USD scene in Nuke Stage :
| 1. | Go to Project Graph > Scene > USD Stage and select your desired USD filepath. |
| 2. | Once loaded, the USD scene will show in the viewport. |
| 3. | To view the details of the objects within the USD scene, click the Scene workspace tab. |
| 4. | In the Scene Graph panel, the Prim name, Visibility, Type, and Kind of the objects will be displayed. |
Note: There is no default light in Nuke Stage. Ensure that any USD scene has lights already included in the file before loading.
You can transform the entire USD stage using the Root Transform options in the Properties Panel. Alternatively, use the transform handle in the viewport which is visible when Project Graph > USD Stage is selected.
You can click on the Visibility icon (
) to toggle visibility for a USD object. If an object is set to be invisible, all object children will inherit that invisibility. To toggle the visibility of the entire scene, click on the Visibility icon in the graph header. To toggle the visibility of multiple selected prims, select the prims and use Ctrl/Shift+left click over the visibility icon to apply the change to all selected prims.
Individual USD objects in the scene can be selected in the viewport using the mouse and translated or rotated using the Transform Viewport handles.
You can add a mesh to your USD, which enables you to easily add features such as lightcards. Read Adding a Mesh to learn more.
All USD editing in Nuke Stage is non-destructive. It will edit the USD for the Nuke Stage Editor and RenderNodes from within the Nuke Stage project, but won’t edit the original USD file.
