Snapshots

The Snapshot feature is an on-set tool that enables you to capture metadata from a specific moment in time. Snapshots can be used to quickly access specific camera and scene settings that had been previously used.

To capture a Snapshot in the Nuke Stage Editor:

1.   Go to the Sequence Workspace and click on the Vault tab. Alternatively, navigate to the Snapshot button found in all workspaces at the top-right corner of the Editor.
2.   Click Snapshot.

3.   A Snapshot will be recorded with the data from the point in time the button was pressed. This information can be viewed in the Vault panel.

Your snapshots will appear in the Vault table with the Name, Slate, Take, Date, Time, Automatic and Description information. They will also display the Snapshot icon ().

After taking a Snapshot, you can edit the name, slate, take index, and make notes in the Description cell. You can also delete snapshots by right-clicking the snapshot and selecting Remove.

Double-clicking the Vault table will open a popover with in-place editing controls. Alternatively, you can click the cell you want to edit and press F2 / select Edit from the context menu.

To open a specific Snapshot in your current project, select the Snapshot and press the Restore Snapshot button found at the bottom right of the Vault panel. This will restore the project contents and data to the point in time the Snapshot was recorded.

Press Export Project to export the Snapshot to a separate Nuke Stage project file, which you can then open as a project tab. Alternatively, right-click on the snapshot and select Open at Snapshot from the context menu. This will open the snapshot as a new project file, without exporting it first.

Note:  Snapshots are saved in a database that is linked to the project it is recorded from, so will be accessible after closing and re-opening Nuke Stage. The database location is defined in User Preferences > Vault > Database Directory.
