The Vault
The Vault is Nuke Stage’s data recording system that captures and preserves all metadata throughout the shoot.
The Vault uses two workflows:
• Snapshots- creates a save file from a specific point in time.
• Take Record - creates a camera USD file from a defined beginning and end point.
You can then open this recorded data in Nuke. Read more at Opening Vault Data in Nuke.
Vault Controls and Preferences
Note: Any auto saving / snapshotting will automatically be disabled when live or during a take to avoid throttling performance.
The Vault panel has some general controls for managing your Snapshots and Takes. Further details about specific workflows are in the Snapshots and Take Record sections:
• Slate - A text input for you to define the ID of the slate.
• Take - Defines the take number for Snapshots and Takes. Once you start recording Takes, this will automatically increment. You can also manually adjust this value, and it will reset to 1 if you change the slate.
• Filter - The filter icon enables you to filter through any of the Vault panel information to find a specific result.
You can adjust your Vault preferences by navigating to Preferences > Vault or by clicking the preferences icon in the Vault panel (
). Full preferences can be found at Vault Preferences.
