For syncing between machines, each RenderNode will need a GPU that is compatible with Quadro sync. A list of compatible GPUs can be found on the NVIDIA Quadro Sync page. For high resolution image playback and compositing, please use a high-end GPU such as an A6000
New Features
Gaussian Splat support
Nuke Stage can now load and render Gaussian Splats. Supported file types are .ply and .splat files. .usd files can also be loaded when created and exported from Nuke 17.
Note that this initial iteration of the feature may have some performance limitations. Particularly, outer cameras of any resolution will likely cause performance problems when rendering Gaussian Splats.
Feed Mapping panel
The Feed Mapping panel is a canvas-style view that enables you to place images across your displays in 2D space. It makes it easy to apply a single image smoothly over multiple displays, or split things up so each display shows a different texture. You can use textures from output nodes and map them to displays either as a group or individually, depending on what you need.
Gallery panel
The content gallery is a new panel that allows you better manage your assets for a project. The Gallery includes two types of libraries for asset management:
• A filesystem browser which will allow you to browse folders from within a defined root folder.
• A Bin which allows content to be dropped into one centralized place from different file locations.
Stype support
We’ve added support for Stype camera tracking, giving you access to both camera position and detailed lens data. This includes focus distance and focal length, which can be driven live and applied to your renders through the depth of field node for more accurate results. Lens distortion data is also pulled directly from the Stype input .
Feature Enhancements
Sequencer improvements
The sequencer has received several improvements. Tracks are no longer created automatically, reducing clutter and making timelines easier to manage. You can now add tracks and keyframes for properties directly from the Properties panel, streamlining the animation workflow. Clip creation and editing have also been refined, making it significantly faster and easier to sequence 2D content. In addition, the cue system has been improved, and a new Cue panel allows you to jump between cue points in your sequence quickly and efficiently.
Override changes
There have been several updates to override workflows. Camera and texture override targets can now be defined using specialised override nodes, streamlining setup and control. Display overrides, however, still rely on the existing system for now. Discoverability has also been improved: both the scene graph and project graph now include icons that indicate the override status of objects. These icons not only make overrides easier to identify at a glance, but also allow users to create and manage overrides directly.
Playback improvements
NotchLC files greater than 16k can now be played back in Nuke Stage. NotchLC files that use LZ4 compression are also now supported in Nuke Stage, although note that LZF is not supported. Large resolution (e.g. 20k) NotchLC files and those that do not use LFZ compression can be rendered from the upcoming Nuke 17 release. An issue with playback jittering (both NotchLC and EXR files) when using the system timecode was fixed in this release. Note that further playback improvements will be in a release of Nuke Stage in the near future.
