Warning:  Projects created or modified with Colorway 4.1v2 and Colorway Kit 4.1v2 are not compatible with older versions of Colorway. It is highly recommended that you make a backup copy of your older Colorway project files before opening any projects in this release. The projects can still be opened with Colorway 4.1v1, but if there was a UV real world scale set exported from Modo, this information won’t be seen by Colorway 4.1v2 and can be lost on save.

Note:  .dci files created with Colorway Kit 4.0v3 and the IO tool are not compatible with Colorway versions older than 4.0v3.

Note:  You must have Modo 14.0 and later installed if you require the mPath path tracing renderer.

New Features

Added Support for Normal and Bump Maps in Material Thumbnails

When normal and bump maps are assigned to a material in the Material Library, the material thumbnail now represents the normal and bump mapping present in the material.

See Material Libraries.

Added Support for Normal and Bump Maps Applied to SVG Parts

SVG parts now display normal and bump maps when assigning materials containing them.

See Working with Parts.

Added Support for Real World Scale Per UV Set

Individual UV sets on Colorway parts that have real world size assigned in Modo are now supported in Colorway.

See Defining Real World Size of Materials in the Material Library.

Note:  This feature requires you to render .dci files with Modo 14.2, which allows you to assign real world size to individual UV sets.

Bug Fixes

430105 - Fixed an issue where only a single undo step was stored when the artist modified the color of a selected part by click-dragging the color picker wheel.

448722 - Fixed an issue where copying and pasting colors and images altered the stored variations.

Fixed an issue where copying a LiveMaterial snapshot with the automatic variation update feature enabled caused issues.

447818 - Fixed issues with snapping to sheet corners.

448845 - Adding a second manual Callout pin no longer deselects the tool.

430696 - Fixed the rendering of the cursor in Text item edit mode.

457362 - MaterialLibrary: fixed saving relative paths to textures instead of forcing them to be absolute.

456624 - Fixed calculation of transform handle positions with grouped items.

456612 / 456620 - Fixed issues with reordering items in the items tree.

449965 - Fixed some crashes and improved performance of reopening projects.

458926 - Fixed a crash that occurs when materials are being applied to non-renderable parts with transparency.

449829 - Tweaked the bump mapping algorithm to fix issues with pixels whose normals are 90 degrees to the light vector. DCI renders now automatically refresh once normal texture mipmaps are ready.

456337 - Improved texture memory management.

Known Issues

427752 - .svg files won’t always load when the .svg file is opened in Illustrator.

428019 - Zooming out from the canvas might cause .svg files to disappear.

405372 - Hidden sheets are not skipped when using the mouse wheel to change sheets.

386980 - There might be a minor difference in RGB and hex values when color swatch is added from color picker into a palette.

390699 - The correct swatch is not picked when using the MacOS color picker in AdobeRGB colorspace.

391834 - There is a minor discrepancy in the RGB values between colors applied to parts and the same color in the rest of the application.

431336 - Colorway can crash on close of some projects.

431674 - Selecting a whole folder from the LiveSource browser might cause a crash.

396513 / 371022 - Crash reporter is not appearing 100% of the time on Windows.

365155 - When the user starts up Modo after a Deadline render farm job has completed, Modo appears to hang for a while.

408993 - Multiple tagged UVs are not rendering over Deadline.

440055 - The Colorway Kit doesn't render diffuse color on Modo procedural textures.

414523 / 427416 - .dci files can sometimes have Modo material colors burned into its textures.

Note:  Resetting Modo's settings resolve this issue.

105803 - Intensity >1.0 for Luminous materials causes tints applied to parts to be incorrect.

401124 / 393971 - When rendering multiple UVs from Modo into Colorway, any materials using specific UV maps will use the first UV map in the list instead.

394046 - When the user adds a new UV map to their Modo project, it won't appear in the kit's list of UV maps right away.

402893 - Return Roam errors if the internet is disconnected instead of displaying a warning.

390916 - Return Roam fails if the internet is disconnected and reconnected.

396080 - A client using a server license will take too long to boot when disconnected from the VPN, if it doesn't crash.

422711 - Booting Colorway on MacOS with no license may cause Colorway to hang.

431250 - The size slider in grid view for palettes is not functioning.

396246 - Importing another users preferences file does not update the LiveSource browser correctly.

432462 - Adding a sheet requires the user to press OK twice.

328951 - Sheet masking should not allow an item to span multiple sheets.

440699 - When setting textures to display as Images in the Preferences, the selected visible column does not update.

442277 - The text alignment can cause the contents to become cropped.

432009 - Textures seen though transparency might be distorted, this effect increases with multiple layers of transparency. Enabling use of mPath in the Kit solves this issue.

394303 - The texture widget behaves erratically when a non-uniform scale is applied at the part level.

445879 - Variations are not updating correctly for some users.

435520 - It is impossible to get the right click context menu with a Wacom tablet.
