USD workflows - choose your route

1.   "Using Native USD workflows” allow you to complete your workflow while staying in USD space. Your USD data and assets are created, edited and rendered seamlessly. We are continuing to work on Native USD to enable more options for these workflows.

2.   "Bridging between Katana Geolib and USD” refers to the ways in which the new USD-native infrastructure can be used in conjunction of any other features and workflows in Katana. These processes allow you to work in a hybrid way where you can mix both workflows whilst in the process of adopting USD.

3.   Pre-existing UsdIn workflows” refers to USD workflows that have existed since Katana 4.0, prior to there being a native USD framework. In recent versions, this is still a valid workflow which undergoes an immediate conversion to Katana’s Geolib data; its USD-specific properties can be edited using nodes that begin with “UsdIn”, however the data is not USD-native. Using these methods means that your workflow will be predominantly using a combination of UsdIn with nodes that manipulate Katana attributes.
