Multi-Shot Lighting and Simultaneous Live Renders with Foresight+
The introduction of Foresight with Katana 4.0 meant artists could elevate their lighting workflows with simultaneous Preview rendering. New to Katana 5.0, Foresight+ takes the pre-existing Foresight infrastructure to new heights, which now fully supports simultaneous Live rendering.
This tutorial covers how to iterate shots effectively with live renders, enabling you to preview your scenes accurately when making small changes across multiple variations or shots.
Through pinning values in the Catalog, artists can freely switch between Graph State Variables (GSVs) in the scene, and only trigger a Live render update if they choose to. We also introduce new updates to the expression syntax library to work with the Foresight+ capabilities.
Finally, find out how syncing the Catalog to your Project Settings updates your project's GSVs and frame time to match the chosen Catalog item so you can work in the context of your renders.
