What's New in Flix 8.0
Flix 8.0 provides a flow of seamless communication and collaboration between your storyboard and editorial tools of choice. Enhanced round-tripping with Storyboard Pro, and updates to integrations make Flix an even more powerful hub for bringing story development teams together.
Note: See the navigation bar on the left for links to specific release notes by version.
Storyboard Pro Extension
With Flix 8 comes a brand-new Storyboard Pro Extension, joining the existing Photoshop and Maya integrations. This extension introduces a true panel-by-panel workflow - send individual panels directly between Storyboard Pro and Flix, and replace or version-up panels in Flix seamlessly within Storyboard Pro Extension.

Shots UI and Round-tripping
In Flix 8.0 we’ve introduced a new, intuitive Shots UI, providing more options for working with and managing shots. Create, modify and manage shots directly within Flix, using the customizable shot naming systems and the Shot Properties panel. Enhanced round-tripping keeps workflows fully synchronized between Flix, Editorial, and Storyboard Pro. Shots return to Flix from Editorial exactly as they were exported, preserving name and structure. In Storyboard Pro, Shots appear as native scenes with no extra conversion steps needed.
Note: See Using Shots in Flix for more information.
Drag and Drop Workflows
Flix 8 introduces some major improvements to drag-and-drop workflows, designed to make panel handling faster, more intuitive, and better aligned with production needs. Drag and drop new panels anywhere in the Flix browser (without pre-selecting a destination) for a streamlined panel-creation workflow. You can also drag artwork directly onto an existing panel to automatically version it up with the new artwork, maintaining full panel history - all from within Flix.

Flix Client Plugins
Building on the APIs and automation tools introduced in Flix 7, Flix 8 now adds Flix Client Plugins, giving teams direct control over UI customization and behavior through the Chrome plugin framework. You can now add custom buttons and modify UI behaviors.
Note: See more at Managing Extensions & Plugins.
New Sequence Ingest UI
A new Editorial and Storyboard Pro import model gives insights during import. Access real-time visibility of progress during each stage, enabling you to keep working during the process. The top bar visually displays which step the import has reached, while a more detailed breakdown shows real-time progress for each sub-task, plus direct access to the import logs.
