Exercise
1. | From the right side tool menu, open the Image Manager. |
2. | Open a folder location on your desktop that contains images. |
3. | Drag an image from the open folder into the Image Manager. Now take the image from the Image Manager and drag it on to your model. |
4. | With the Paint Through tool selected, paint a stroke of the image over the model and bake the paint to the model. |
5. | Rotate the model to make sure paint was applied. |
6. | With the paint buffer clear of any paint strokes (Ctrl+Shift+C) and the image still on top of the model, press the apostrophe key on the keyboard to stamp the entire image onto the model, or press the stamp button on the toolbar at the top of the viewer. |
7. | Press B to bake the paint, then rotate model to confirm it has been applied. |
Practice
Using mask modifiers is important to get familiar with when working in Mari. Enable mask preview and explore each type of mask setting.
Adjust the sliders and values for each to see how they affect the 3D model. After adjusting each value you can reset it with the r button beside each attribute.
